The Story of Pocono Mountain Lakes Realty: From a Small Office to a Regional Leader
When Pocono Mountain Lakes Realty (PMLR) opened its doors in January 2008, the real estate world looked very different. Many long-standing offices were closing, but a small team in Broadheadsville, Pennsylvania was just getting started — driven by determination, local knowledge, and a simple promise:
“Old Fashioned Hands-On Service with Today’s Modern Technology.”
With just five agents (including the two founding owners), PMLR quickly made its mark as a new leader in the Pocono real estate market. The team’s personal touch and community-driven approach stood out, helping buyers and sellers navigate a changing market with care and confidence.
As business grew, so did the need for space. In 2010, PMLR opened a larger office in Blakeslee, PA, establishing what would become the company’s flagship location. Two years later, rising demand in the western Poconos led to expanded service throughout the Carbon County corridor. By 2018, PMLR’s footprint stretched northward, opening a new office in Hamlin, PA, serving the Northern Tier and even reaching into New York State. That expansion laid the groundwork for the company’s next chapter — one centered around the lake region.
In 2020, while the world was changing, PMLR took another bold step forward — purchasing a new office building in Hawley, PA, just around the corner from Lake Wallenpaupack. The move from Hamlin to Hawley brought the team closer to the heart of the lake region and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to serving buyers, sellers, investors, and vacation homeowners from Pike and Wayne Counties to Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties.
Today, Pocono Mountain Lakes Realty continues to grow, adapting to modern tools while staying true to the same values it was built on — trust, service, and community. From that first small office in Broadheadsville to a thriving regional presence, PMLR’s story shows that Old Fashioned Hands-On Service still means something to our local communities – and PMLR’s continued success and growth across northeast Pennsylvania is a testament to that.
