Why buyers pick Lake Harmony
Most Pocono lakes are electric-motor only. Lake Harmony is not — it is a power-boating lake, which is the single biggest reason buyers who want to water-ski, tube or run a jet ski end up here instead of one of the quieter communities down Route 940. Add ski slopes five minutes away and you get a rare year-round property: summer on the water, winter on the mountain.

Amenities and lake access
Lake access around Lake Harmony is not uniform. Homes inside Lake Harmony Estates carry deeded access to the private beach, the docks and the tennis courts. Other homes near the lake may have no access rights at all, or access through a separate agreement. Before you fall for a listing, we read the deed and the association documents so you know exactly which of these you are buying.

Dues, taxes and schools
Lake Harmony is in Kidder Township, Carbon County, and the public schools are in the Jim Thorpe Area School District. Your annual property tax bill combines the county, township and school district millage applied to the county assessment for that specific parcel — which means two homes on the same street can carry very different bills.
